Endowments
An endowment is a legal instrument that provides a stream of income for the ongoing operations or specific purposes of a congregation, institution, or nonprofit organization. It is funded by donations, meaning that the amounts contributed generally are tax deductible by the donor. Distributions can be structured either as net income generated by the invested assets or a specified percentage of invested assets. An endowment can exist for a fixed number of years or in perpetuity.
LFOT can assist individuals and families , congregations, schools, and agencies in establishing any of these types of endowments:
- Congregation, School, or Agency Endowment
- Individual or Family Endowment
- Donor-Advised Endowment
