Investment Program
The Foundation endeavors to develop investment objectives for each individual or ministry account. Specific objectives may include:
- Liquidity - short term investments.
- Capital Preservation - safety-oriented.
- Income - maximum income consistent with protection of principal.
- Total Return - invested for income, equity growth, or both.
- Growth - equity growth with little or no current income.
Appropriate investments for particular investment objectives may include but are not limited to:
- Liquidity - Money market accounts, certificates of deposit, treasury bills, treasury notes, or other investments generally with maturities of one year or less.
- Capital Preservation - Fixed investments such as FDIC-insured CDs, treasury notes, Texas District Church Extension Fund notes, GICs, and fixed annuities, many with guaranteed or insured principal. Income - US Government bonds, agency bonds, investment-grade corporate bonds.
- Total Return - Income-producing investments and/or equity mutual funds and other investments that provide the potential for equity growth or growth and income.
- Growth - Variable annuities, growth mutual funds providing little or no current income.
A particular account may be invested individually or invested in funds managed by the Foundation along with other accounts seeking the same investment objective.
Donors or account holders are encouraged to indicate appropriate investment objectives that the Foundation will seek to honor consistent with its fiduciary duty.
