"As my mother advanced in years it seemed evident that she would not be able to manage her financial resources. In consultation with the Lutheran Foundation of Texas, a plan was developed that would allow for a large portion of some stock investments to be placed in a Charitable Remainder Unitrust. My mother would receive a monthly income for life and after she was deceased, my brother and I would equally divide that same amount of income for 20 years. This would be followed by donating the corpus of the original trust to three ministries including Texas Partners in Mission of the Texas District--LCMS.
My mother is now with the Lord in heaven. I am so thankful that we took the actions we did when she was able to make these decisions. She was taken care of for life and three ministries for which she had great love will be blessed as well. I thank the Lutheran Foundation of Texas for making all of this possible."
